OHIO FLAG State Quarter

The 50 State Quarters program is the release of a series of commemorative coins by the United States Mint.

It started in 1999 through 2008. Each year, it featured each of the 50 individual U.S. states on unique designs for the reverse of the quarter.

The program was started with the intention to create a new generation of coin collectors, the awareness of numismatic hobby and todate, it was a success.

The Statehood Quarters initiative became a very successful numismatic program in the US history. It is estimated that half of the U.S. population were collecting the coins, both casual manner or as a an investment.

By the end of 2008, the original 50 statehood quarters the official total according to the U.S. Mint, was 34,797,600,000 coins

The 2002 Philadelphia Quarter has one of the lowest mintage of 217,200,000
